Sips of the Week

Kanonkop Kadette 2010, Stellenbosch, South Africa $14.99

 Winemaker’s Notes:
A blend of Pinotage 44 %, Cabernet Sauvignon 41 %, Merlot 9 % and Cabernet Franc 6 % this wine has a deep ruby, red color. It shows ripe raspberries, black currant and mocha flavors on the nose and has dark chocolate and blackberry fruit on the palate. This wine has good length with a dry finish and can mature for a further 7-8 years.

Mulderbosch Chenin Blanc 2010, Stellenbosch, South Africa $15.99

 Winemaker’s Notes:
A powerful nose of guava, lime zest and ripe pear braced by honeysuckle and orange blossoms. A juicy palate with opulent passion-fruit, following through from the nose and finishing off with tart grapefruit characteristics. The refreshing acidity is perfectly counteracted by a creamy mid palate and subtle oak-derived spice. The 2011 vintage is a more fruit-driven style that is fresher & drier comparing to the 2010 vintage. A delightfully accessible wine that is mouth-wateringly moreish.

Debbie Phillips founder of Women on Fire (and my coach) shared some tips on how to be on fire about your life (listen here) and we gave details on how to join us for a workshop at the Sonesta Harbor Court Hotel in Baltimore on 9/12 from 4-7PM. Twelve years ago I began my journey from frustrated software executive to sommelier and one woman was there to support me from the start—Debbie Phillips. Now as an award-winning author, radio show host and national speaker, I know that the support I got from Debbie and other women in my life was crucial in making that leap.

Debbie Phillips is a masterful coach who knows how to nurture the gifts she sees in the women around her. That’s why she created Women on Fire, a national organization that provides inspiration, strategies and support to women looking to create lives they are on fire about.

I convinced Debbie to come to Baltimore on 9/12 from 4-7 PM for one of her trademark tea parties that are nothing short of magical. They are part coaching, part networking and always special. To maintain the intimate environment where you will really get to connect with other women, we are limited to only 16. Please consider being one of the women that will experience this exclusive event with Debbie and me.

Tickets are $197 – an incredible price for an evening that includes a 5 course high tea, three hours of coaching with Debbie, connecting with other women on fire, and a special toast of bubbly from me at the end! Tickets & Registration: http://www.visionday.com/wofbaltimore.html

Mention The Wine Coach in the comments section upon checkout and get a copy of the Women on Fire book signed by me and Debbie!
